About Feline Care
At Feline Care we focus on cats who are less likely to find homes due to their age, temperament or health.
This can mean they spend longer in our care whilst they wait for a new home.
Role Overview
As a Cat Cuddler at Feline Care, you will play a crucial role in providing comfort and companionship to our
resident cats. Your main responsibilities will include spending quality time with the cats, helping to reduce
their stress levels, and preparing them for adoption by improving their social skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Cuddle and Socialise: Spend one-on-one time with the cats offering patience, cuddles, and interactive play to help them feel loved and secure.
- Monitor Behaviour: Observe and report any changes in behaviour or health to Feline Care staff to ensure each cat receives appropriate care.
- Enrichment Activities: Engage the cats in stimulating activities using toys, puzzles, and other enrichment tools to keep them mentally and physically active.
- Cleanliness and Hygiene: Assist with maintaining a clean and safe environment for the cats by cleaning play areas and ensuring all toys and equipment are sanitised regularly.
- Support Socialisation Efforts: Help socialise shy or nervous cats by gradually introducing them to human interaction and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Health and Safety: Comply with Feline Care policies and procedures regarding health and safety.
Requirements
- Love for Animals: A genuine passion for cats and their well-being.
- Ability to travel: Please make sure you are able to travel to our address NR16 2QN, we have free on-site parking.
- Patience and Compassion: Ability to handle cats on their terms, gently and patiently, especially those who are
shy or have had traumatic experiences.
- Reliability: Consistent and dependable in attending scheduled volunteer shifts.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills to effectively report any concerns or observations to the staff.
- Physical Ability: Ability to sit, kneel, or stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks.
