We recieved a call late on Thursday from a caller reporting her cat missing. He fitted Alex's desription perfectly and was missing from very close by although she was certain he was really a she!

The next morning she arrived with her other cat, Alex's brother not sister, and the two went straight in for neutering at our vets and to be microchipped. They were taken home later the same day after their full check up.

The boys were very glad to be reunited only poor Alex was less than pleased to get his name back - DAISY!

We all thought the nation had already got the message not to give pets as presents but it seems we are wrong.

We are already receiving calls asking if we have kittens for Christmas presents and we are informing all callers why we have very restrictive rules on homing at this time of year.

No cat or kitten will be allowed to leave Feline Care between Thursday 17th December and Friday 1st January.

The ASDA bag pack in Norwich raised a fabulous £422, far exceeding all our expectations especially since, despite some working from start to finish, we were so short of volunteers on the day.

A huge thanks to everyone who gave their time and packed and packed and packed away the day for the cats of Norfolk!

As well as bringing in so much money we also all found it a great opportunity to chat to shoppers about cat care and the work we do at the centre.

Everyone was very supportive and we were amazed that so many shoppers withdrew cashback just to make a donation!

Thank you Richard for organising an insane weekend with the East Harling Sports and Social Club playing host to a 25hr sponsored pool marathon!

We are so grateful to the gang: Richard, Joe, Lewis and especially Tanya (who was a brave pool novice!) for giving up their time and sanity for our moggies. They started at 6pm on Saturday and had a race to finish 150 frames by 6pm on Sunday. Sponsorship money is still being collected but they hope that their team work will raise around £250.

Our dear Joan was put to sleep on Friday after inoperable throat cancer started to make it difficult for her to eat. She had been given two weeks to live several months ago so we had fair warning of her condition and are thankful that she kept going through the whole summer.

Joan had lived here for longer than any of us can remember and was never offered a home due to her age, the colour of her fur (black) and her grumpy nature. She loved to be around people and most certainly knew her own mind, her party trick being tapping visitors on the leg then biting them if they stroked her!

Last Wednesday our very special friend Louie gently purred himself to sleep for the very last time.

Once a feral, he was precious to so many volunteers, supporters and friends and has left a huge hole in all our hearts.

During our recent store collection we received several reports of a little ginger cat living rough near Barclays Bank in Attleborough. Many members of the public have been feeding the little waif and we heard so many times what dreadful condition the cat is in.

Later the same day we went to investigate the claims ourselves, via our charity shop which was on the way. Quite by chance one of our ex-volunteers popped in and whilst chatting about her new home and job (hence ex-volunteer!) mentioned their poor old cat.

Thanks to Sarah, Emma, Michelle, Vicky and Jason for their hours spent meeting shoppers at Pets at Home. Shoppers donated £110.86 and we hope to have found some lovely homes for cats too!

Enormous thanks to Sarah, Emma and Joe for talking to shoppers about our work and hopefully enticing some new volunteers to help look after the cats. Our amazing looking stall has been totally created and donated by Sarah and it's fantastic to see the cats presented so beautifully and professionally!

Generous shoppers also donated nearly £100 even though we were not there to 'tin-shake'!

Thank you to shoppers in Sainsburys on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th August who dug deep in their pockets for our moggies!

A grand total of £632 was donated and we had a lovely time meeting many of our charity shop regulars and people who have adopted cats from us.
