Although the land conveyancing and full legal switch over is still in progress we have now raised, thanks to many kind supporters, over the £70,000 we needed to save our home.

We have been astounded at the generosity of those around us and also by the hours of work our volunteers have put into raising the money.

The Diss Express has run a huge local appeal for us and have covered our story throughout the journey and their support has been amazing.

Our Save Feline Care facebook page has helped us to keep everyone up to date on a daily basis (this site is not so quick and easy to update!) and been a great place to share ideas.

We have had donations from all over the country and even from as far away as Canada, thanks to magazines The Lady and Your Cat for also picking up our plea for help.

There have been nearly 600 individual donations to our appeal and each donor has been thanked personally on our Facebook page.

Thank you, on behalf of all our cats and those we will now be able to help in the future, you SAVED FELINE CARE.

Enormous thanks and a lifetime of purrs go to everyone who helped save Feline Care.

All those who donated over £100 are listed below although we know only too well it took donations of all sizes to get us to such a huge target.

Several local companies now have permanent collection points for us where staff can donate items on our wishlist. The support we have had has been tremendous and we hope more businesses will consider setting up collections.
We can offer tailored posters to suit your collection so please let us know if you think your workplace could support us!

Unless Feline Care can raise £70,000 to buy itself and become a registered charity in our own right - WE WILL BE CLOSING DOWN AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER.

The Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre, based in West Sussex, currently own Feline Care and all our feline residents will be moved to their premises should we fail in our rescue bid. We need your help.

Initially a deal had been struck to save the sanctuary but the current trustees would not allow it and we are now on a knife's edge. We must make Feline Care safe.

We know £70,000 is a huge goal for such a small sanctuary. If we didn't already run on a shoe string and drag the most out of every single penny then we could opt for a loan. Repayments, alongside other costs which will increase, are simply unaffordable as we are already working our fingers to the bone to pay for the care of our 140+ residents. Raising the money is our only option.

    Please, please help.

    Please donate online:
    https://www.charitychoice.co.uk/donation.asp?ref=160128

Please send cheques payable to Feline Care to:
Feline Care,  Roudham Rd, East Harling NR16 2QN.

Please download and return a standing order form:

If you can't afford to donate then could you organise a fundraiser for us?

You can join our "Save Feline Care" Facebook group to share ideas and find inspiration:

Download our poster and plaster them everywhere you can think of!

However you can help, we need you more than ever.

UPDATE: You have saved Feline Care! Thanks to so many kind souls who have rescued our cats - we are all in shock!

Donations are still coming in and our current total is just over £72,000 but please check out our facebook page (see bottom of page) for an up-to-date total.

The Diss Express is running a local appeal for us and our story has been covered by most of the local papers as well as Your Cat magazine who feature us in their current issue!

We've had our breath taken away by how many people have stepped up to help and we're more certain than ever that we can do this! Our Facebook page now has well over 500 'likers' and word is spreading far and wide of our plight, with one donation coming all the way from Canada.

Please keep spreading the word between your friends and family. We need a lot of people's help to make sure Feline Care survives for future generations of abandoned, ill treated and unwanted moggies.

    PLEDGES TO DATE:
Donations and pledges of over £100 and given directly for the rescue of Feline Care:

Huge thanks to the team at Armitage Pet Care for donating us a load of litter trays! www.armitages.co.uk

Quite a load it was too, over 1,500 trays plus plenty of feed bowls, so we also enlisted the help of Stewards Waste Management who lent a huge van for us to collect the load. We recently neutered a colony of cats with them and they're as potty about cats as we are.

Paul, Terry and Molly headed off at 6.30am to the other side of Nottingham in blazing sunshine and returned home late afternoon....

Thanks to everyone who pitched in to get it all unloaded and then the excess lugged up into the loft over the next few days: Emma, Linda, Chris, Erica & Loren (sorry if I've missed anyone out!)

Back in January 2007 we speedily splashed paint round our new shop with only 24hrs before opening. Four years on the shop has seen a huge amount of trade which has provided nearly half of our income. But years of blue tack and grubby fingers (plus smoke damage from an upstairs fire and a builder falling through the ceiling!) have taken their toll and Sarah decided it was time for a well needed makeover.

Thank you to Pauline for lending us her wonderful husband Ray who is a retired painter and decorator! He's brightened the shop up no end and it gave us an excuse for a little re-arrange too. Sarah, Emma, Chris and Paul spent the May bank holiday weekend working on it and ever since we've been receiving nothing but positive responses from all our customers.

If you have donations for the shop then please drop them off at the centre any morning between 8-10am. If (on the very rare occasion) the gate is locked at that time then please leave them outside for us to pick up on our way back in.

Please remember that we are very grateful for clothes, bedding and shoes in any condition as those that cannot be sold in the shop can be sold to our ragman. Sadly it's a different story with bric-a-brac as the cost of waste disposal is so high for us. Please, please don't donate things we cannot hope to sell (broken ornaments/crockery, toys with parts missing, old tupperware, etc.) as it costs us such a lot to throw them away. We also, by law, cannot sell electrical items or cuddly toys without the CE safety logo on the label so these items have to be thrown out immediately.

We hate being fussy but we know you don't want your donation to cost us more than it has helped!

The shop is on Exchange St in Attleborough and is open every Monday to Saturday between 9am – 5pm so come along and have a browse.

Huge thanks to the members of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club who held a raffle to raise funds for us on a sunny day out with City Boats in Norwich. Toad Wright, editor of the club's “The Bulletin” bi-monthly magazine, even brought her own very spoilt rescue cat, Fen, along for the day!Terry, Fen & Toad about to board their City Boat!Terry, Fen & Toad about to board their City Boat!

The group's enormous generosity raised a grand total of £250.00 whilst enjoying the sights of Norwich by boat. Massive thanks to Beryl High, of City Boats, for auctioning her own Tom Kitten figurine as part of the fun and raising £90 towards the total.

We all work so hard that it's really especially nice to know that even while people are out having fun in the sunshine they still think of our cats. We are going to put the money towards the completion of our 'Jellicle' pens which should make more room for our neuter and return feral/farm work.

If you could put your skills to organising an event for us then please get in touch so we can help with posters, equipment or ideas: info [at] felinecare [dot] org [dot] uk

There's nothing quite like seeing nearly fifty cats all sit down to share a meal together, especially on a warm summer evening.happily sharing a bowl of kitty milk!happily sharing a bowl of kitty milk!

We're looking for more pairs of feeders who can commit to one evening a week for up to two hours. Though feeding can be a one person job we prefer people to volunteer in pairs so if one of you has to miss a week then the other may be able to feed still.

It can also be a nightmare trying to change plans last minute if a volunteer doesn't turn up so we also ask that you let us know at least two days in advance if you aren't able to attend.

Though a pleasure to spend time with the cats it's no easy task. After training you must be able to follow our meal chart to ensure all cats are fed correctly and upkeep our strict hygiene standards to prevent cross-infection.

Sometimes it can be tough as we do cope with poorly cats and you have to pay strict attention to any special diets or medication which need to be given in food.

Few people get to experience the fun of feeding here but if you and a friend would like the chance please email Molly or Paul at info [at] felinecare [dot] org [dot] uk or leave us a message on 01953 718529.

    CURRENT NIGHTS NEEDING LONG-TERM COVER:
Saturday - Vicky is covering Saturdays for us until we find new helpers!
Sunday - Thank you Karen for offering to cover single handed!
Monday - Thank you to Theresa and Chris for giving up another evening to feed.
Thursday - Thanks to Vicky for taking Thursdays on.

We have the warmest and smiliest cats ever today thanks to Andrew who came to their rescue only hours after our appeal for help!

Thanks to his experience and knowledge both our heating and hot water were up and running again in under an hour. The system still needs some maintenance but the temporary repair will keep us warm until he returns.

We are very proud to recommend:

Of course all our cats are naturally beautiful but we've been amazed at the stunning images Nicky Thurgar has captured of our cats.

We think you'll agree how special they are....

Nicky has been kind enough to donate her time and pictures to Feline Care and we're so pleased with the results. Some of her pictures have already been used in our leaflet and for greetings cards, sold in our Charity Shop.

If you're looking for a photographer then Nicky's work comes recommended by our highly trained panel of feline experts who rarely stay still to pose!

You can browse her website at http://www.nickythurgar.com/ or view Nicky's blog at http://nickythurgarphotography.blogspot.com/
